Smiling widely, Barlow tipped his head in greeting, a mocking gleam in his eyes. "Finally, Captain Maymon. I was beginning to think my men had been too harsh with you."

Maymon grimaced and rolled his aching shoulders, making the wide opening of his wrinkled, food-smeared new shirt gap all the more, revealing his darkly tanned, smooth chest all the way down to his low-riding, tight, black pants.

Maymon eyed his new captor and frowned, instantly recognizing barely suppressed lust in the man's piercing glare. "Had more enjoyable reasons for a rough sleep." He pushed himself up in one graceful leap to a stand, stance still slightly unsteady. He rubbed at his chest again, inspecting the exposed flesh looking for a wound. He raised his eyebrows and then shrugged when he found nothing but old scars and unblemished skin.

Remaining seated like a king on his throne, Barlow introduced himself, bowing marginally from the waist, careful not to disturb the lines of the yellow splash of silk bound around his middle. "I am Agustus Barlow and I'm very pleased to finally meet you."

A half-lidded, calculating look of distrust flickered across Maymon's face. He murmured a low sultry sound and responded in a blatantly flirtatious tone. "Ah. The man what wants to own me, eh?"

Barlow's eyes roamed hungrily over the lithe pirate's lean frame, taking in Maymon's slim hips, half-naked chest, provocatively pursed, full mouth and challenging stare. He moistened his lips before answering. "On the contrary, Captain. I'm the man who gave you a second chance at life."

Barlow offered his hand in a gentlemanly welcome. Maymon easily accepted the offer, not bothering to wipe the wet sand and beach debris from his palm first. Frowning, Barlow grimaced and delicately rubbed his hands together to remove the gritty mess.

A light smile tugging at his lips, Maymon ignored Barlow's disgusted reaction. He stepped back a pace and planted one hand on his waist, surveying the beach in greater detail as he talked, smugly taunting the pompous man who was a large part of the turmoil in his life.

"Been giving all that credit to a rather large, gray, sea monster what plucked me drowning self from these very waters." He sauntered nearer to Rice, a suggestive swagger in his stride that had Barlow's attention riveted to Maymon's ass and not his actions. As he drew near to the doctor, Zrac pushed him away and Maymon graciously backed off to continue wandering around the small campsite.

Shifting on his rock throne, eyes glued to Maymon, Barlow bristled, a look of hatred and disgust darkening his sallow complexion even more. "The bounty Hunter might have been the one who transported you, but I'm the one who paid for the trip." He stabbed a finger in Maymon's direction and seethed, "Make no mistake who you owe your life to, Captain."

A knowing smile lit up Maymon's face and his eyes glistened brightly in the flickering firelight. His voice was throaty and misleadingly seductive as he softly declared in a mocking tone, "Oh, I have a fair notion about the right of things, mate.
